Kick-off was delayed for over an hour after Gucha Stars filed a protest against the eligibility of several Nakuru Bucks players prior to the game starting.
With Gucha Stars leading 2-0 in the 86th minute, the match was abandoned after the assistant referee was attacked by some fans, prompting safety concerns.
On September 30, the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee dismissed Gucha Stars’ protest over Nakuru Bucks players’ eligibility but upheld the 2-0 scoreline at the point of abandonment.
The ruling ensures Gucha Stars’ victory stands, confirming their promotion to the National Super League for the next season.
Following the ruling, the club expressed joy, stating, "NSL it is! Destiny can be delayed, but cannot be denied. Our season-long battle on and off the pitch has finally paid off! Victory is sweetest when the battle is hardest! We came, we saw, we conquered!"
Elsewhere, Soy United will face Bumbani Stars in the FKF Division One play-offs, while Compel SC will remain in Division One as they prepare for the 2025/2026 campaign.
